The abandoned warehouse stood on the outskirts of the city, hidden behind rusted shipping containers and surrounded by silence.
Inside...
Silence didn't exist.
Muffled cries.
Pleading voices.
The sound of chains dragging across the concrete floor.
More than thirty girls sat huddled together, their wrists bound, their eyes swollen from endless tears. Some prayed for a miracle.
Others had already given up.
The traffickers laughed among themselves, discussing prices as if they were selling merchandise instead of human lives.
"We leave in twenty minutes."
"The buyers are waiting."
"Check every girl before loading them."
None of them knew...
This would be the last deal of their lives.
---
Outside the warehouse...
Several black SUVs came to a silent halt.
The doors opened one after another.
A group of men dressed entirely in black stepped out, each carrying concealed weapons and wearing expressionless faces.
At the center of them stood one man.
Arnav Rajvanshi.
His sharp grey eyes scanned the building once before speaking.
"No innocent girl gets hurt."
His men nodded.
"And the traffickers?"
One of them asked.
Arnav's expression remained unreadable.
"They chose their fate the day they started trading human lives."
With that, he walked forward.
The operation began.
---
Within seconds...
The warehouse erupted into chaos.
Gunshots echoed through the night.
Men shouted orders.
Some traffickers reached for their weapons.
Others attempted to flee.
None succeeded.
Arnav moved with terrifying precision.
Every movement was calculated.
Every strike was decisive.
Within minutes, the entire warehouse was under his control.
His men freed the girls while the surviving traffickers lay restrained on the floor, waiting for the police.
One of them glared at Arnav.
"You think you've won?"
Arnav looked down at him without emotion.
"I didn't come here to win."
His voice was calm.
"I came here to end this."
The man lowered his eyes.
Even criminals feared the silence in Arnav's voice more than threats.
---
"The girls are safe, sir."
His right-hand man approached.
"The police are five minutes away."
Arnav gave a slight nod and turned toward the exit.
Then...
He stopped.
Something felt... wrong.
His eyes shifted toward a dark corner of the warehouse.
Hidden behind broken wooden crates lay someone the rescue team had missed.
A young woman.
She was unconscious.
Her clothes were torn, her forehead stained with blood, and bruises covered her arms. Her breathing was so faint it was almost impossible to notice.
For a moment...
Everything around him faded into silence.
He walked toward her.
Slowly.
He knelt beside her and placed two fingers against her wrist.
A weak pulse.
She was alive.
"Sir..."
One of his men stepped forward.
"We'll take care of her."
Arnav didn't respond.
Instead, he slipped one arm beneath her shoulders and the other beneath her knees.
Then, to everyone's surprise...
He lifted her into his arms.
His men exchanged confused glances.
No one had ever seen Arnav Rajvanshi carry anyone himself.
Not once.
"Sir, we'll—"
"I said..."
His cold voice interrupted them.
"I've got her."
No one dared speak again.
---
The ambulance doors opened.
Doctors immediately surrounded the unconscious girl.
"What happened to her?"
"Severe physical trauma," one medic said after a quick examination. "She's lost a lot of blood. We need to move now."
As they rushed her inside, Arnav's gaze remained fixed on her pale face.
He didn't know her name.
He didn't know who she was.
Or why his mind refused to walk away.
The ambulance disappeared into the night.
Only then did Arnav return to his car.
---
An hour later...
He stood beneath the hot stream of water in his mansion's luxurious bathroom, trying to wash away the blood, the smoke, and the memories of the night.
But every time he closed his eyes...
He saw only one face.
That unconscious girl.
His jaw tightened.
"What is wrong with me?"
He had rescued countless victims before.
Never once had he thought about any of them after leaving.
Then why...
Why was she different?
The answer remained as silent as the empty mansion around him.
And somewhere across the city...
A girl lay unconscious in a hospital bed, completely unaware that fate had already begun weaving her story with the man who believed destiny never existed.
